About the Role

As our Quality and Risk Assurer, you will play a pivotal role in our Quality Control & Risk Management team. Your mission is to sample, assess, and elevate the work of our trainers, ensuring that all assessment decisions meet stringent standards and compliance risks are proactively managed.

This isn't just about auditing—it’s about development. You will collaborate closely with our Delivery teams, providing constructive feedback and tailored support to Vocational Trainers, empowering them to grow and deliver exceptional learner experiences.

Duties will include:

  • Ensure High Standards of Delivery: Monitor work submitted, conduct thorough sampling interventions from learner induction to gateway, and deliver consistency sessions to drive continuous improvement.
  • Champion Personal Development: Partner with the Development QA team to support assessment practices through the delivery of TAQA, ensuring minimum performance levels are achieved. Provide remote feedback and coaching to Training Consultants.
  • Contribute to Ofsted Readiness: Evidence quality, support continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and Awarding Organisation specifications.
  • Learner Journey & Compliance Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all assessment and progress evidence is valid, authentic, reliable, and sufficient.
  • Complete, record, and share clear IQA reports following each sampling intervention, highlighting areas of risk or good practice.
  • Monitor ESFA compliance by auditing progress reviews, learning support documentation, and the effectiveness of learner catch-up plans.
  • Utilise end-point assessment (EPA) platforms to refer apprentices to their EPA.
  • Compliantly and accurately claim qualification certifications within 12 hours of IQA, and process APA / RPL components.
  • Meet Quality & Risk Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • Identify and escalate assessment risks/concerns to your line manager or the Quality Director within 48 hours..

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Experience within the Hospitality & Catering sector.
  • Relevant qualifications in the Hospitality industry.
  • Hold a Level 4 TAQA qualification, or have a strong willingness to work towards achieving this.
  • A good understanding of ESFA funding rules, the Apprenticeship Accountability Framework, High-Quality Apprenticeships, Awarding Organisation requirements, and Ofsted.
  • Familiarity with EPAO systems, processes, and APA rules.

Key Skills:

  • Excellent attention to detail and outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written) to write clear reports, deliver constructive feedback, and motivate Training Consultants.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess and interpret performance data, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Good use of ICT and up-to-date technology skills (including systems like BUD).
  • Ability to work under pressure, remain flexible, resilient, and well-organised.
